"Me in Green"

This piece was inspired by Henri Matisse. Matisse is best known for his use of colours to emit emotions from his artwork. The assignment was to pick a colour and create a self-portrait using that colour. I choose green based upon its meaning. I don't think it turned out as good as it could have.

"RECYCLE"

This piece was a combine, inspired by Rauschenberg. We were supposed to pick an important issue in society today like; abortion, "global warming", war, wall street, etc. I chose the environment, and how we need to do our part to save the earth for haveing the privellege of living on it. I started by printing out "NO LITTERING" signs and assorting them in a collage-like way. I then painted the hills, solar pannels, and wind turbines. The recycle symbol is an image transfer with the earth inside of it.

"Dallas"

This piece was inspired by the famous Baroque painter Rembrandt. The assignment was to use light to convey importance. I used light to convey an importance in the book that my step-brother, Dallas, was reading. I placed a candel in his lap to emitt light from were the book was giving it a sense of importance.

"Little Bro"

This is a portrait of my little brother, Zack. The project was foreshortening - the visual effect or optical illusion that an object or distance is shorter than it actually is because it is angled toward the viewer. In my picture he is laying down on a bed with his head buried in arms. I would like it much more if i would have started it in charcoal rather than graphite because it doesn't look right with the two mediums blending together.

"F Building"

This is my Percisionism piece of "F" building at school. I'm REALLY pleased with its outcome. It has great contrast and depth, and has a good composition. I wouldn't change anything about it.

"The Horse and His Guitar"

This is my version of a Cubistic still-life
we had set up in the art room. The
assignment was to draw a still-life then
convert it to either a synthetic or analytic
cubism piece, somewhat like Pablo Picasso's
or Georges Braque's. I started out drawing
the still-life, trying not to give it much detail,
but then I got carried away with the horse's
detail. So to balance the detail on the horse
with the rest, I decided to give it all some
sort of "detail". I established a definite color
scheme with an accented green. Every piece
was individually cut out and "rubber-cemented" to give it more texture and depth. I finished off by painting the background a different shade of black. In all I'm pleased with its outcome.

Untitled

This is my "attempt" at completing a Gustav Klimt inspired piece that I don't like. It turned out nothing like I wanted it to. I uesd Acrylic on paper, which was a mistake. Feel free to leave a comment telling me how crappy it is.
